One of the more pleasant ways to spend a sunny afternoon is relaxing on a comfortable lounger. Here we review the Hartman Amalfi Lounger to see if it justifies a not insignificant price tag.
The lounger is made of aluminium and this has some significant advantages over other materials. First, it’s lightweight, which makes it easy to move around and store.
Second, the Amalfi lounger is made of a rustproof material. If you’ve had garden furniture that is made of rust-prone material before, you may know the paid of rust stains. Those rust stains are particularly difficult to eradicate from materials such as Indian sandstone.
Along with the cast aluminium frame, you also get the weather-resistant lounger cushion which is in one piece. This makes it easy to store.
One of the nicest features of the lounger is the wheels that complement a rather attractive design.
Unboxing and constructing the Amalfi lounger
The box arrives with all components ready to assemble. You just need to ensure that you have a spanner suitable to tighten the nuts.
Give yourself about half an hour to make each lounger, although if you have done it once it will become easier the next time around.
There are instructions provided, but you may well find them a bit difficult to follow (I did). Therefore, here I am including a link to the official assembly video from Hartman (below) which I hope will help save you a bit of hassle:
Here you can also get a good idea of what the Amalfi looks like from all angles.
Amalfi Lounger Evaluation
After the construction phase, it was time to sit back and relax (I needed it!). Fortunately, the comfort did not disappoint.
You can easily adjust the backrest angle to suit your current mood. The cushions are quite firm, it should be noted.
While you can leave the rust-proof lounger outside all year round, the cushions should be brought indoors during the winter months to keep them in good condition. Spillages can be wiped off with a cloth soaked in warm, soapy water.
This item also comes with a 5-year manufacturer warranty, which is some comfort considering the cost.
Overall, I find the Amalfi lounger very comfortable to sit or lie down in, easy to move around and very stylish to look at. If you do decide to buy one, I think that you will be very pleased with your purchase. Hartman has done a great job with the Amalfi.
